Systems: Here are a few example systems I have performed architecture work on.
DMS: CDC/ Arbitron’s next generation distributed audience monitoring system intended for initial release to 20,000 homes nationwide, I designed the system & protocols, built the boards, got the patents, but no T-shirts.
EDMICS: The Engineering Document Management Information Control System, the largest engineering document management system ever, now JEDMICS (joint).I was the network member of the architecture team dedicated to interoperation with other systems and communications, also rewrote device drivers, also built some hardware interfaces, etc.
ELCADD: Early collaborative engineering system for General Dynamics Electric Boat Div.- mainframe database, multi-site redundant storage with failover.I was the network and communications member of the architecture team, and performed installation management.
Sun Oil Seismography Document Management System: All my architecture "from soup to nuts"
FAA Backfile Conversion System: to my knowledge 2nd largest imaging backfile system ever built at the time behind IRS- based on throughput. All my architecture and management. It must have been good, as it was reused for NAVY BuPers (Bureau of Personnel)- another huge system.
ATLASS II: worldwide distributed USMC logistics system I was the communications architect.
OPSNET: nationwide management reporting system for FAA with broad visibility. It reported on late arrivals and departures. I reengineered the architecture to make it work after five years of failures.
Arcturus: a commercial version of the line of architecture used by EDMICS/ELCADD/FAA Backfile/NAVY BuPERS/Sun Oil etc.
Update of number 2 computer aided dispatch vendor’s architecture to display real-time situation awareness from sensors such as CBRN, intrusion detection, access control
Global Nuclear Detection System of the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (one of many architects)
FEMA Total Asset Visibility System (EA oversight to critical program)
Integrated Public Alerts and Warnings System (EA oversight to critical program)
